In this write-up, we take a deep dive into AIOZ DePIN by through its recent developments and significance to the four infrastructure services on the AIOZ Network.
Let's dive in:
An AIOZ DePIN is defined as any computing device running the AIOZ DePIN App - a software that enables a device to contribute its resources, such as Storage Space, Processing Power, and Bandwidth, to the AIOZ Network while earning $AIOZ tokens in return.
The number of AIOZ DePIN has increased from roughly 60,000 at the beginning of 2024 to over 180,000 by July 2024, representing a 200% increase in the space of just six months!
One major factor that has contributed to the rapid increase in the number of AIOZ DePIN is the seamless process of installing and operating the AIOZ DePIN App, providing a unique experience for DePIN operators.
The AIOZ DePIN App has undergone two major updates this year, version 3.0 and version 4.0, with each new update empowering DePIN with additional capabilities.
Let's analyze each one below:
1.) AIOZ DePIN 3.0 : This update was released in April 2024, empowering AIOZ DePIN CLI with the ability to execute AI computational tasks, such as AI Model Training and Inference.
The release of AIOZ DePIN 3.0 marked a significant leap forward for decentralized AI Computing and is the foundation upon which the upcoming AIOZ AI platform is built.
2.) AIOZ DePIN 4.0: This update was released in June 2024, empowering AIOZ DePIN with Transcoding functionality, a process of converting video files into different formats for various digital devices and media platforms.
The release of AIOZ DePIN 4.0 marked a significant leap forward for decentralized Video Streaming and is the foundation upon which the upcoming AIOZ Stream platform is built.
The homepage of the AIOZ DePIN App interface consists of four sections - Storage, Delivery, AI, and Transcoding - that help DePIN owners monitor their rewards and computing resource contributions to the AIOZ Network in one glance.
The four major Infrastructure-as-a-service solutions on the AIOZ Network are powered by the computing resources provided by AIOZ DePIN, highlighting their importance to the Network's value proposition.
Let's analyze how each solution benefits from AIOZ DePIN below:
1.) AIOZ Storage: AIOZ Storage is a highly versatile Object Storage Infrastructure with S3 compatibility for Web3 dApps.
This solution utilizes the storage space - SSD (Solid State Drive) and HDD (Hard Disk Drive) Fnof AIOZ DePIN to provide the benefits of reliable, distributed, and scalable cloud object storage at an affordable cost. 2.) AIOZ Pin: AIOZ Pin is a Web3 IPFS Pinning Service powered by the in-built Content Delivery Network (CDN) of the AIOZ Network.
This solution utilizes the storage space and bandwidth of AIOZ DePIN to provide the benefits of secure, high-speed, and scalable file storage to end-users and development teams.
3.) AIOZ AI: This is an AI-as-a-service platform powered by DePIN infrastructure, a Web3-incentivized collaborative AI marketplace, and AI dataset storage.
This solution utilizes the processing power - GPU (Graphical Processing Unit) and CPU (Central Processing Unit) - of AIOZ DePIN to provide the benefits of distributed and permissionless AI computation to end-users and development teams.
4.) AIOZ Stream: AIOZ Stream is a DePIN Video Infrastructure for hosting, sharing, and streaming Live Videos and Video-on-Demand (VOD).
This solution utilizes the bandwidth of AIOZ DePIN operators and the in-built CDN of the AIOZ Network to enable businesses to deliver high-quality video content to their audiences globally.
With all of these benefits, it is clear that the design of AIOZ DePIN is properly aligned with the long-term vision of the AIOZ Network, which is to become the premier infrastructure solution for Web3 decentralized applications (dApps).
How Many AIOZ DePIN Nodes Are There Today?
The AIOZ DePIN page counted 329,940 total DePINs on Oct 29, 2026, with 26,555.667 TB of data delivered so far. That counter covers the whole network: storage, delivery, transcoding and super intelligence (SI) compute. The AIOZ Storage homepage shows 191,285 edge nodes, a narrower figure for that one service, so check which scope a number refers to before you quote it.
The counter moves. It stood near 180,000 in July 2024, and AIOZ put it above 300,000 in June 2025, so treat any single figure, including ours, as a snapshot of the day you read it.
What Do You Need to Run an AIOZ DePIN Node?
A normal computer is enough. The DePIN GUI Desktop docs give this baseline for the desktop app:
- Operating system: Windows, Ubuntu or macOS.
- CPU and GPU: no strict requirement for now. The docs say a later version may use the GPU for transcoding.
- Memory: at least 512 MB of RAM, with more giving a smoother experience.
- Network: a stable connection, with 20 Mbps or faster recommended.
- Disk: at least 50 GB of free space.
Setup is one click. The AIOZ DePIN page says you can set up a node "in minutes on any computer or laptop", and it runs in the background once the app is open. There is no enforced uptime, but your node only receives tasks while it runs, so longer online time gives you more chances to complete tasks and earn rewards.
You can cap the disk space you share, schedule the hours the app is active, and pause it when you need the full computer for other work. One node serves several services at once, and the DePIN CLI docs show the reward balance split into storage_earned, delivery_earned, transcoding_earned and ai_earned totals.
For a server without a desktop, the CLI runs on Windows 10 22H2, Ubuntu 14.04, macOS Catalina 10.15 or anything newer. Whichever app you use, treat the node's private key and mnemonic phrase as wallet secrets: the docs warn that anyone holding them controls your node rewards.
